Job Summary
The Associate Scientist I Quality Control works closely with the organization directors to assist in all aspects of research, teaching and training provided by the Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing (JIB).
The role will be responsible for ensuring JIB operates in compliance with its Quality Management System (QMS), maintaining analytical equipment in a state of readiness, and developing and executing analytical and process workflows.
Essential Functions
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Maintain and update JIB’s QMS in collaboration with JIB’s management team and the Director of Quality
- Author, maintain, and implement standard operating procedures for operating JIB’s facility
- Perform and document cleaning, environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance, material management, and personnel training and qualification activities in compliance with JIB’s QMS
- Implement and maintain a cGMP Quality system in collaboration with JIB’s management and the Director of Quality
- Maintain all necessary analytical equipment in a state of operational readiness while implementing appropriate documentation and maintenance activities, in compliance with JIB’s QMS
- Perform method development and routine testing for a variety of analytical methods
- Design and execute processing studies as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field required
Experience :
Industry experience preferred but not required.
