Medical Office Specialist Family Medicine/ Full-Time
Description
POSITIONSUMMARY : Responsible for greeting patients in warm friendly tone toallow families to feel welcomed at clinic during their visit.
Registration and interviewing of patients to obtain accuratedemographic and financial information. Computer entry ofnew / updated patient demographic information.
Answers phones.Prepare medical records for clinic visits by compiling informationfrom various sources. Tracks dictation to ensure notes are receivedfor all patient visits.
Collects co-pay amounts and balances duefor services rendered. Distributes financial assistance packets andprovides basic guidance to patients.
Refers complex ornon-compliant patient financial issues to Financial Specialist orSite Manager.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION : High schoolgraduate.
CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : Medical Terminology Certification, preferred.
SKILLS :
- Computer knowledge,experience with Windows environment specifically Microsoft OfficeWord and Excel, keyboarding skills and the ability to operategeneral office equipment skills required
- Ability to read and write in English, bilingual inSpanish preferred.
EXPERIENCE : One to twoyears of general or medical office experience or completion of amedical office program within the last two years.
One to twoyears of health experience preferred.

Responsible to : ClinicManager

Bloodborne pathogen -B
General office environment,frequent contact with patients, VDT exposure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Long periods of sitting at times. Keyboardusage with sound ergonomic principles. Must be flexible inwork schedule.
