About The Position

Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse

Profession : RN

Shift : 8 or 10 hour days plus call

Hours per Shift : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : RN License Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

• Experience in Neurosurgery and all surgical service lines.
• Staff must be well versed in all surgical procedures as specialized teams are not available.

Description :

The position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse.

Experience with adults, geriatrics, pediatrics, and obstetric patients is essential.

Common surgical cases include neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedic, GYN, general surgery, and DaVinci robotics.

Charge nurses are present on each shift and do take assignments.

OR techs are available to assist.

The electronic medical record system used is EPIC.

Staff are scheduled for 5 days a week, with shifts from 0630 to 1500.

There is a weekly requirement of one night on-call.

Weekend on-call shifts occur every 5th or 6th weekend (Saturday / Sunday).

Rotating holiday call is also required.

Floating to pre / post-op, PACU if trained, and ER for trauma cases may be necessary.

Scrub color and dress code are provided.

Orientation specific to the unit lasts one week.

Core staff have a history of longevity and teamwork.

Commitment to safety is a primary focus.

Flexibility with daily surgical schedules and willingness to educate others are important attributes for success in this role.

Requests for time off should be provided upfront and are limited.

The facility can cancel a specific number of shifts during the assignment period.

The position requires a strong commitment to patient care and collaboration within the healthcare team.
