Summary :

This position is responsible for providing respiratorytherapy, under medical direction, in the treatment, management,control, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients withdeficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.

The CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital, established in 1959, wasthe first children’s hospital in South-Central Texas. Locateddowntown, this 190-plus-bed hospital serves more than 70,000children annually from San Antonio, South Texas and around theworld.

The hospital (in partnership with Baylor College ofMedicine) is the only academic children’s hospital in San Antonio.Our highly specialized services meet the unique medical needs ofchildren, from Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care to Children’sEmergency Services, the latest treatments for deformities of thespine including titanium rib implants and halo traction, a HeartCenter, a specialized asthma program, a highly regarded Cancer andBlood Disorders Center, and growing maternal services to includeconsultation, delivery, and maternal fetal medicine.

Responsibilities :

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUSCompetencies : Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader ofLeaders.
• Cleans and sets-up Respiratory Careequipment on a daily basis and after being used for patientcare.
• Monitors supplies and forms in CardiopulmonaryDepartment as needed.
• Ensures all Respiratory Careareas throughout the facility are properly stocked with suppliesand equipment, at all times.
• Participates ineducational activities to further his / her knowledge of RespiratoryCare needs.
• Assist in coverage for EKG asneeded.

Requirements :

A. Education / Skills

High school diploma or equivalent preferred,but not required.

B.Experience

1 3 years ofexperience preferred.

C.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

None required
