Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Project Manager Architecture, we'll count on you to :
- Provide day-to-day project team leadership and interface with the client.
- Plan and coordinate the work of multi-disciplinary teams throughout all phases of planning, design, and construction
administration.
- Manage and coordinate the work of outside design consultants in accordance with the contractual scope of services.
- Ensure quality deliverables are produced on schedule.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor, as appropriate, internal team members.
- Remain actively involved with marketing, design, and production meetings for projects and potential projects.
- Participate in reviews with various authorities having jurisdiction for code compliance, general reviews, and approvals.
- Create project schedules to identify critical project milestones and significant interim deadlines.
- Develop work plans to adequately staff work to achieve project milestones and budgets.
- Track and manage the financial performance of projects and coordinate and adjust work effort to work within project work
plan parameters.
- Proactively manage the financial parameters of HDR’s work with clients.
- Work with the Regional Controller and the Managing Principal to regularly review project performance.
- Support and actively engage in business development including proposal writing, fee development, and interviewing for
new project opportunities.
Experience and / or interest in sustainable design is desired.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Design Professional
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- 12+ years of project leadership experience in various building typologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of making client presentations
- Exceptional people management skills and client facing capabilities
- Strong leadership, mentoring, motivational and organizational skills
- LEED registration or similar preferred
- Commitment to promoting design excellence across all disciplines
- Must be a team player
- Experience in the areas of Healthcare, Educational, Science and Research Facilities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture
- 10 years related experience
- A minimum 5 years project management experience
- Registered Architect
- Must be able to lead a team on projects
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- Knowledge and experience within the local and regional market
- Good planning and mentoring skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
