Employment Type : Full time Shift : Rotating Shift Description : POSITION PORPOSE + The position supports the Trinity Health Ann Arbor (THAA) Surgical and Neuroscience ICU (2 North) a 20-bed unit in a Level 1 Trauma hospital.
Patients admitted to the SNICU require intensive care monitoring including those patients with hemodynamic instability, compromised respiratory status and frequent neurological monitoring during the post-operative period of hospitalization.
The population of patients includes cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, vascular and general surgeries. Additionally, the SNICU treats a wide range of serious neurological conditions, including both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
The SNICU has expanded its neuroscience capabilities by acquiring a biplane and thrombectomy certification.+ This position is a Full-Time, scheduled 36 hour per week, rotating shift : Six weeks on days (7 a.
m. to 7 p.m.) rotating with six weeks on nights (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) with every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO + Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan.
The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.+ RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway / plan of care.
- The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
- The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment / technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS + Current Michigan Nursing License+ Graduation from accredited nursing program (Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.
