Quality Control Supervisor
Position Summary :
This position is responsible for all quality control processes to ensure product specifications, analytical procedures, sampling programs and control systems are appropriate and meet system capability and key customer requirements.
Additional responsibilities involve assisting the development, validation and maintaining Food Safety and Food Quality systems consistent with the SQF Code certification requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Demonstrated computer knowledge required.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Good sense of taste smell and touch.
- Basic math and reading skills required.
- Strong product knowledge preferred.
- Knowledge of the U.S.D.A. approved Net Weight Program preferred.
- Follow all policy and procedures including Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Must have overall knowledge of recipes and finish product specifications.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- Willingness to work multiple shifts for special projects / auditing.
Physical Requirements : (with or without reasonable accommodation) :
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facility.
Work Environment :
Temperature : The production floor is maintained at approximately 4O F.; in other areas, the temperature level is moderate.
Freezer areas are zero degrees or colder.
Noise : When the incumbent goes on to the production floor, ear protection is required; in other areas, noise level is moderate.
Qualifications / Other Requirements :
- 5+ years of QC experience in a food manufacturing preferably USDA environment. Will consider other production or manufacturing backgrounds with previous supervisory experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and technical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
- SQF Practitioner or GFSI experience or willing to obtain.
