We seek dedicated, service-oriented individuals to join our team of health care professional employees providing services to Wisconsin Veterans and their families.
Our Nursing Assistant staff serve as the first line care providers for the elderly / frail population who call our facilities at King and Union Grove home.
Duties Assist members with the activities of daily living : personal hygiene and care, maintain cleanliness of member living areas, serve food cafeteria style, supervise members activities, administer medications (at Assisted Living), complete member charting and recordkeeping, and provide supportive services to terminally ill members and their families.
Required Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Geriatric treatment and care issues
- Nursing assistant care procedures applicable to an elderly patient population of varying physical, mental and emotional abilities and needs
- Safety and infection control principles
- Patient charting and record keeping
- Electronic record keeping, reporting and communications programs
- Light housekeeping functions in assisting patients with daily living activities
- Equipment and materials pertinent to nursing assistant care
- Reality orientation techniques, redirection techniques, and validation techniques
- Patient rights and privacy (e.g. HIPAA)
- Mobility efforts, to include : positioning or repositioning, transfers, ambulation, personal care, and other movements
- Observation, monitoring and basic assessment of members
- Organizing and prioritizing workload / patient needs
- Oral, written and therapeutic communication skills
- Effective interpersonal relationship skills
Special Requirements Must be certified or eligible for certification as a federally Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with the State of Wisconsin.
