The work will be challenging, but always rewarding. It’s Work That Matters. Overview Purpose Statement / Position Summary : Assists faculty and staff in designing and implementing research projects.

Independently plans, prepares, and conducts a wide variety of routine and non-routine (complex) laboratory procedures. Oversees multiple projects at a time.

Records, tabulates, and analyzes data and assists with and provides expertise in the preparation of papers, posters, and scientific publications.

Assists in training staff and may provide functional supervision to assigned laboratory personnel. Minimum Qualifications / Work Experience : Minimum Qualifications holding a Bachelor’s degree : 5 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments.

Minimum Qualifications holding a Master’s degree : 3 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiment.

The ideal candidate is able to follow a protocol accurately and have meticulous record keeping. Be able to present data and results to the research team.

Self-motivated and passionate about science. Able to carry out tasks independently with instructions and to be able to trouble-shoot with some assistance.

Able to be a team player and be task oriented. The individual hired needs to be proficient in the following : - in vivo mouse brain tumor work in all its aspects, including, planning experiment after discussion with the PI, handling mice, providing them treatments by oral or injection routes, participating in brain tumorimplantation procedures, bioluminescence and MRI imaging of mice and analysis of the data, monitoring mice for signs of distress, euthanasia and perfusion / harvest of brain and other organs.

  • All aspects of bench laboratory work such as complex mammalian cell culture experiments, westernblotting and immunoprecipitation, functional assays and flow cytometry, cloning and mutagenesis ofplasmids, generation and work with retroviruses, and planning and analysis of these.

g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or psychology) Masters’ degree or above (Preferred) Pay Scale Information $44,304.

00-$79,872.00 CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
