Description
The Evening Security Guard is responsible for ensuring a safe and orderly environment for program Participants, Staff, and Visitors They are also responsible for ensuring that the building is evacuated in case there is an emergency.
The evening Security Guard is responsible for covering the program Monday through Friday 6 PM-10 PM and every other Saturday during the school year.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position :
1 In addition to the responsibilities below, perform all other duties as assigned.
2 Use positive approaches when handling difficult situations. Avoids gossip and negative discussions. Remains flexible and adapts to change.
3 Serves as a role model for program participants. Abides by dress code. Always, professionally conduct oneself.
4 Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.
5 Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development. Attend external training and workshops directed by management.
6 Represents the organization both within and outside the work environment in a manner that promotes the agency's mission, vision, and values.
Personally, adhere to organizational mission, vision, and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.
7 Ensure and maintain a safe and orderly environment throughout the facility.
8 Supervise fire drills and emergency procedures.
9 Greet and screen all persons entering the building and outside play areas and Prevent vandalism and destruction of program property.
10 Assist staff in securing equipment and supplies and registering participants, including processing, and maintaining orders during orientations and registrations.
11 Maintain accurate participant register and sign-in sheets.
12 Remain sensitive and responsive to cultural differences in the agency's service population.
13 Conduct fire drills once per month.
14 Conduct Shelter-in-place drills twice per year.
15 Complete 15 hours of training every two years.
16. obtain F07 and S95 Certificate of Fitness
17 Complete a daily walkthrough of the facility, and maintain daily accurate records and logs provided by the Program Director.
Must be able to work in Coney Island
Qualifications
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED
1 Year of related experience.
Security Certificate (16 Hours), CPR and RTE preferred, F07 and S95 Certificate of Fitness
