Job Summary Provides medical services and health education to patients under the supervision of the physician sponsor with regards to the age specific populations including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each persons motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care. Meets regularly with the physician sponsor for consultation, supervision and collaboration. Assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in the hospital according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice. Education and / or Experience Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Licensure / Certification / Registration Licensure as a Physician Assistant and ability to practice in the state of South Dakota required. Federal and State DEA Certification is required for South Dakota. National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required. ATLS and ACLS certifications required. Work Schedule Full Time, Varied Shifts; 80 hours every 2 weeks Every 4th weekend & holiday Every third week night & Every 4th weekend call time
