This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Civil Engineer- Energy to join our Power & Energy team in Rochester, NY. The following location will be considered : Binghamton, NY, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Kansas City, MO, Orlando, FL, Boston, MA, New York, NY and Augusta, ME.

The candidate will be involved in projects with our Energy Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Work under mentorship and guidance of the Supervising Engineer.
  • Grading and drainage design and review
  • Foundations design and review
  • Driveway and drive area design and review
  • Overall site plan and truck / trailer access, specific review of mobile access plans
  • Civil engineering lead and advisor for all projects and the capital program
  • Maintaining good working relationships with internal groups that support projects.
  • Maintaining good working relationships with material suppliers, contractors, and any others that affect the quality, schedule and cost of projects.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline
  • 3+ years' of relevant post education experience as a civil engineer
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in consulting firms.
  • Proficient with various engineering design tools and software.
  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Efficient communications and ability to work with team members not located in the same office through MS Teams, email, and / or telephone calls.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug / alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
  • This role is subject to a client-mandated drug / alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug / alcohol tests.

  • This position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Essential Professional Licensure / Certification or Eligible for PE Licensing

Compensation :

Expected Salary (all locations) : $73,100 - $114,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.

WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and / or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only) : $68,800 - $124,100
