Position Description :
CGI Federal is looking for a skilled SME Computer Systems Engineer / Architect with a deep understanding of complex application, system administration, and network solutions with broad knowledge of DFAS Information and Technology (I&T) and / or other Department of Defense (DOD) environments.
You will be a key member of a well-rounded, experienced medium-sized team within a flexible hybrid (remote and / or contractor site location) working environment with the potential for limited ad hoc travel.
All Corporate Electronic Document Management System (CEDMS) applications require continued maintenance, security upgrades as DoD mandates, and functional enhancements as required by the customer base.
This team will be responsible for maintaining the DFAS CEDMS application instance(s), supporting operations, and performing services for all application system environments (Development, Staging, Production, Continuity of Operations) that are required for the application upgrades, research and development, testing, training, system maintenance, application security maintenance, system interface setup and maintenance, and consultation support across all modules.
In addition, the applications maintain approximately fifty established system-to-system interfaces transmitting data to / from over the Secure File Gateway (SFG), direct SFTP and / or EOM / DEPCON.
New interfaces will be required as the CEDMS applications onboard new customers.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- Function as a Technical Expert across multiple project assignments. Design and develop solutions to complex application problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. May supervise others.
- Provide technical / management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments. Establish goals and plans that meet project objectives.
- Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting both short and long-term project growth and success. Advise of feasibility of potential future projects / system enhancements.
- Utilizing architecture products to shape / inform solution requirements in support of acquisition objectives. Aligning architectures to the customer’s strategic goals / objectives (roadmaps, mission capabilities)
- Develop architectural products and deliverables for the DFAS CEDMS enterprise and operational business lines.
- Perform systems management and integration functions.
- Creating new architecture designs and integrating new architectural features into existing infrastructures while maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks
- Applying external interface requirements to architectural products; documenting external operational and system data exchanges
- Broad-based experience in the systems engineering lifecycle and supporting methodologies. Be able to apply this experience to specific cyber security initiatives relating to architectural design and development.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or similar technical discipline. Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
- Hands on experience with System Architect (SA) or similar architecture tools with a deep understanding of DoDAF
- At least 9-12 Years of demonstrated experience producing architecture products and conducting systems engineering / architectural analysis on a large acquisition program.
Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management. Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation. May supervise others.
- Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility to ensure that technical requirements are met.
- Strong written and communication skills are required for collaboration with Gov’t counterparts and key stakeholders, including fellow Computer Systems Engineer(s) / Architect(s) and other functional / technical team members alike.
- Be familiar with the DISA operations and security procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- TS / SCI Clearance level required
- Working knowledge of DFAS mission partners. Broad knowledge of DFAS I&T and / or other DOD architectures and missions, both as-is and future vision.
- Knowledge of DFAS CEDMS mission (CEDMS applications support the DFAS-wide enterprise electronic document management solution per the DoD Enterprise Transition Plan (ETP) for content storage and in support of the reduction paper initiative.)
- Experience within the DOD / DISA / RMF cybersecurity domain
- Demonstrated operational experience with DOD systems, applications, and / or platforms housed within a security-cleared environment
- Demonstrated experience developing with advanced systems engineering concepts and / or tools
- Current CISSP, INCOSE or other relevant cybersecurity and engineering certifications a plus
