Overnight Machining Team Leader

Due to growth, Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI) an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for an experienced Team Leader to join our Machining Department.

Hours :

Third shift bend hours : 11PM-7 : 30AM + Additional $3.00 shift differential paid on all hours worked overnight

Candidates for this role will be training for 6+ weeks on first shift - 5 : 30AM-2 : 00PM.

Primary Manufacturing Team Lead responsibilities to include :

1. Assign and lead daily activities on assigned line.

2. Train new and existing employees.

3. Conduct team meetings, sharing relevant information for the day.

4. Maintain safety standards by insuring safety talks and safety walks are conducted and action items addressed.

5. Promote a culture of teamwork and quality communication within and between teams.

6. Guide and assist team members, as needed, to achieve and adhere to schedules and other manufacturing requirements.

7. Track status of machines and parts, identifying problems and issues; and, taking appropriate steps to resolve in the shortest amount of time.

8. Develop productive and effective team relations through interaction, coaching, and guidance of team members.

9. Communicate with Group Leaders on areas of concern, not able to be resolved at Team Leader level.

10. Manage and oversee Lean systems to ensure effective application.

11. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and other metrics are posted and updated as needed.

12. Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to identify true cause of an issue, and take appropriate steps to develop an effective resolution to the extent possible within the sphere of authority and influence.

13. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities, and teaching / coaching team members to learn, understand, and apply CI in their daily work.

14. Oversee quality in the line, identifying quality issues at the source and initiating corrective action to resolve.

15. Hold meetings with team- responding to feedback or bring to the attention of the Group Leader for resolution.

16. Respond to action items or bring to the attention of Group Leader.

Successful Manufacturing Team Lead candidates should be able to demonstrate the following :

Supervisory / Leadership experience.

Good oral and written communication skills. Bilingual a plus.

The ability to read, understand, and apply manufacturing documents.

The ability to manage processes to meet expectations, goals, and company policies and procedures.

The ability to alert and collaborate with the group leader to identify and address behavior and skills gaps.

Consistent work history.

Respect for fellow team members.

Excellent reliability and attendance.

Good time management and organization skills.

An orientation to team work.
