Senior Technical Program Manager - Sensors and Compute

Zoox is on an ambitious journey to develop a full-stack, autonomous mobility solution for cities. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager that will help us unlock this future by driving the development of vehicle platform sensors and compute analysis requirements.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will work cross-functionally across hardware, software, and safety teams to decompose high-level strategy into tactical plans at the engineering team level.

You will develop project schedules, identify milestones, flag risks, estimate budgets, and clearly communicate ongoing progress to relevant stakeholders.

You will ensure all engineering groups understand their priorities and are coordinated, on track, and on budget to deliver our corporate milestones.

Candidates should have strong technical skills in data and analysis that they can leverage to balance competing priorities and drive execution.

Responsibilities

• You will translate the top-down corporate strategy and milestones into detailed product road maps, timelines, dashboards, and deliverables
• You will provide clear, well-structured, and concise communications tailored to the appropriate audience
• You will define and track resource requirements (headcount and budget) with cross-functional leaders and finance teams
• You will ensure every team understands what they need to deliver at all times and define and manage process and regular meetings
• You will develop standard reports that concisely and effectively communicate program status, issues, risks, and accomplishments to key stakeholders
• You will ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified and proactively mitigate and retire risks with engineering teams

Qualifications

• BS degree or higher in an Engineering or Science discipline
• 6+ years of experience in technical program management
• Working-level knowledge with system safety and / or systems engineering process
• Strong track-record in managing complex cross-functional projects

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with safety-critical or high-integrity systems
• Working experience in automotive industry or the autonomous driving technology industry
• Familiarity with applicable industry safety standards such as MIL-STD-882, ISO 26262, ISO 21448 PAS, etc.

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position : salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights.

The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $250,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package.

Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.

The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
