Position : Mechanical Engineer
Location : Detroit
Hybrid 3 days in office
Must Haves :
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, architectural engineering or equivalent
- Must be a PE
- 8+ years exp of working as mechanical engineer designing HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, sustainable design and automatic control systems, including exp performing energy models
- Knowledge and demonstration of Revit and Microsoft office AutoCAD nice to have
- Understands different disciplines as it relates to buildings like structural, electrical, etc
Day to Day : We are looking for a candidate at an AEC company. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to :
- Serve as the engineering leader through all stages of a project of any size and plays a progressive role supporting management of the department
- Lead and perform analysis, design and documentation of heating, ventilating and HVAC systems and controls
- Lead and perform analysis, design and documentation of plumbing and fire protection systems and controls.
- Assist in establishing project goals, budgets and schedules, track project performance, and follow / enforce quality control procedures
- Meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors and others to address mechanical discipline issues and to develop effective working relationships
- Present engineering design solutions to client rep and or design review committees
- Serve as mechanical systems specialist, conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope / complexity and devises solutions
- Contribute to project sustainable design inititatives by using a variety of software to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluid dynamic calculations
- Mentor Junior level staff
