Lead Payroll Administrator

Amalgamated Sugar Company - Boise, ID

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Lead Payroll Administrator to lead and manage the payroll department in payroll processing, systems testing, accounting, and compliance.

This position will report to the Cost Accounting Manager.

More specifically, the Lead Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing all processes necessary to complete the company’s bi-weekly, semi-monthly, multi-state payrolls as well as the associated tax regulations.

This position will also facilitate audits from internal and external authorities, communicating and responding to inquiries as well as research and problem solve issues within the assigned area of responsibility.

Additional Responsibilities :

Manage exempt and non-exempt payroll processes including adhering to Union CBA requirements.

Reconcile payroll sub general ledger accounts to the general ledger for accuracy.

Deliver relevant payroll procedures and provide relevant feedback to improve processes and ensure department objectives are achieved.

Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and reporting requirements for all states and prepare and submit required reports and tax deposits by established deadlines.

Oversee year end W2 process and tax filings with UKG to ensure compliance. Process and ensure payment of voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions such as levies, garnishments, and union obligations.

Continue to refine and drive payroll related projects and enhancements.

Manage payroll software updates as well as administer the companies UKG payroll module in the ERP system including managing employees time in Workforce Management (UKG Dimensions).

Develop and produce reports that measure the quality and effectiveness of the payroll operations.

Travel on an as needed basis.

Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Human Resources or equivalent required.

OR a minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in payroll processing for multi-state and multi-company environment.

Certified Payroll Professional preferred.

UKG, ADP, Kronos, Workforce Management (UKG Dimensions) Payroll experience preferred.

Understanding of basic accounting procedures such as account reconciliations, interpreting and analyzing financial information and identifying problems.

Supervisory experience and ability to train and lead change.
