Position : MakerSpace and Fab Lab Coordinator
Job Description :
To provide support and guidance to teachers and students in the Fabrication Lab and / or Makerspace at Da Vinci Design High School, maintain the spaces and equipment, and manage the order proposals for equipment, software, etc.
Responsibilities :
- Provides teacher support on equipment, software, etc. in order for them to learn and use with their students during projects
- Supports teachers and students during project ideation and creation
- Maintains a clean and safe FabLab / Makerspace
- Keeps an accurate inventory of materials, check-in / out log, etc.
- Prepares staff and students with proper orientation / training as applicable to the space
- Participates in staff meetings and other activities as appropriate for continual professional development.
- Prepares proposals for materials orders, equipment, software, etc.
- Coordinates with vendors on orders, servicing of equipment and professional development opportunities.
- Participates in DVD Advisory Board meetings twice a year
- Setting up DVD Fab Lab (e.g. installing equipment, creating procedures, teaching teachers how to use equipment)
- Works as a team member to meet the needs of the sites.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principals or Executive Director.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred; teaching credential not required, but desirable
- Exhibits :
- Positive communication and collaboration when working with staff and students
- Versatility and initiative
- Follow through with task completion and cleanup of aftermath
- Desire to support identified Da Vinci Design High School and programs
- Demonstrated experience and skills working with a diverse community, including traditionally underserved students and families
- In agreement with and committed to the goals and philosophy of the Da Vinci Schools
