CUMULUS MEDIA (PROVIDENCE) is looking for a dynamic Part-Time On-Air Host for heritage Top 40 WPRO-FM. Our people work in a state-of-the-art facility, take pride in our community and value teamwork.

If you can deliver lifestyle headlines, be focused, creative and multi-task and most of alllove radio, we should talk. Board work, remotes and production are all a part of what we do, so show us what youve got.

The ideal candidate is an on-air personality with an excellent voice, at least two years of on-air experience, who understands how to effectively communicate to adults through compelling content and an entertaining personality.

This position requires a firm understanding of social media and digital editing, and a demonstrated ability to operate state-of-the-art broadcast radio equipment.

We are not looking for beginners.

Responsibilities of this position may include :

• Engage with listeners via phone calls, contests, and social media.
• Effectively introduce programs and music
• Read commercial copy and public service announcements
• Operate control console.
• Conduct the occasional on-air interview.
• Update station websites and social media accounts
• Assists in special promotions and programming activities
• Amenable to coaching sessions and station meetings

Who We Are :

CUMULUS Providence currently features 5 stations in the Rhode Island area and surrounding counties. Our stations include : WWKX-FM, WPRO-AM / WEAN-FM, WPRO-FM, WPRV-AM and WWLI-FM.

The cluster of stations reaches thousands of listeners on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities :

• A minimum of two years on-air experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
• Experience in all Microsoft Office programs.
• Proficient in use of audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
• Must be a team player and work well with management and staff at all levels.
• Ability to successfully execute station events and remotes.
• Able to relate to the audience and have a strong listener interaction.
• Public speaking skills and ability to interact with listeners and clients in a public setting.
• Excellent problem solving and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines.
• Skilled in operation of control board, remote broadcasting, and other related production equipment.
• Be a positive member of a tight-knit team.
• Must be creative and innovative with a strong work ethic.
• Must have a valid drivers license and fully insured personal vehicle.

Qualifications :

• 2 + years of Full-Time On-Air experience with successful ratings history required
• Strong production skills and knowledge of Op X, VOX Pro / Adobe Audition and Audacity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking
• Strong knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations
• Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with the local and national trends and / or specialized knowledge of topics / events related to on-air discussions
• Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to station audience
• Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
• Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills; proficient in grammar; ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air
• Demonstrated creativity and imagination
• Can work well in a team environment; collaborative
