What You'll Do
The Welder timely and accurately builds Transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications using mechanical or power hand tools, machines, gauges, soldering and brazing equipment.
In this Function You Will
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies
- Use heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, fabrication, welding and brazing equipment
- Provide assistance to other sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required.
- Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly
- Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools, power tools, MIG welders to assemble, adjust, or repair product
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals
- Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion
- Adhere to company, environmental, health, safety rules and regulations
- Provide process and safety improvement idea.
- Observe all health / hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified.
- Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Completed welding, brazing, MIG, or aluminum welding certifications
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Skills
- 6 months experience in welding, and brazing
- Experience in manufacturing, production, packaging or construction, or equivalent education
- Previous experience with standard operating procedures
