LOCATION DESCRIPTION :

Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. POSITION SUMMARY :
This is a union-based role represented by CNA. Provides for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on specified shifts.
This position is responsible for care planning, medication administration, noting of physiological changes, and psychosocial needs of neonates, as well as the education / training of the patient and their family.
Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice and will be cross trained and float to Peds.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and work accurately in a fast-paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Education and Work Experience :
- Two years' NICU experience : Required
- Previous neonatal transport experience : Preferred
- Previous experience attending deliveries for neonatal resuscitation purposes : Preferred
Licenses and Certifications :
- Current California RN license : Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association : Required
- NRP : Required
- PALS : Required
- RNC or CCRN certification : Preferred
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
