Great Hill is seeking a Hyperconverged Infrastructure Engineer in Washington, D.C. OR in Aurora, CO, in support of Department of State.

The ideal candidate will provide support for enterprise datacenters with over 3000 Virtual Machines. Design, implement and maintain VMWare-based infrastructure and related storage.

Troubleshoot and resolve virtual infrastructure and storage problems.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

• Design, architect, and implement virtual infrastructure (VI) environments
• Maintain all VMware virtual infrastructure environments
• Manage all physical hardware hosting the virtual infrastructure
• Monitor availability and performance of all VI enterprise systems
• Maintain and provide VM backups
• Provide 24 / 7 Level 3 support to virtual infrastructure issues on a rotating basis
• Participate in design and architecture of data center network infrastructure
• Produce architectural documentation for logical and physical virtual infrastructure environments
• Provide and maintain customer virtual machines
• Work with vendors to provide government solutions to customers' needs
• Assist customers in designing and implementing enterprise solutions in a virtual environment
• Collaborate with other teams to provide infrastructure solutions for their needs
• Work independently without supervision and report back to the team of issues that may arise with the infrastructure
• Communicate issues and troubleshooting steps to management
• Develop options for future solutions

Basic Qualifications :

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience plus 5-10 years of hands-on experience
• 5-7 years of demonstrated experience working with VMWare and understanding of the P2V (physical to virtual) process
• Experience with Hyperconverged systems such as Dell EMC VXRail
• Knowledge of Virtual Storage Area Network (VSAN)
• Day-to-day data management and operational support for distributed data systems, including the entire lifecycle including planning;

device and component preparation; solution testing; data placement; backup retention, recall, recovery; and deletion

• Experience with compliance, security, capacity planning, performance, and reporting
• Ability to work on-site 100% of the time

Desired Skills :

• Knowledge of / experience with Nutanix or Red Hat Virtualization
• Knowledge and experience of Linux
• Knowledge and experience of Scripting and Automation
• Knowledge of Programming Languages
