The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center seeks a Chief Psychiatrist to join its practice! *Since its establishment in 1968 as the first primary care program in New York specifically created for the health needs of teens, the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC) has grown to become a model of excellence in adolescent health care nationally and worldwide.

Role Summary : Chief Psychiatrist : *The Chief Psychiatrist will work collaboratively with MSAHC Medical Director and the Deputy Medical Director to ensure that mental health services are developed and managed in accordance with MSAHC’s mission, strategic direction and business position.
The Chief Psychiatrist will direct activities of the mental health staff and ensure that mental health services are delivered in accordance with Mount Sinai’s policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, funder guidelines, and established best practices in child, adolescent and young adult mental health, and adolescent medicine.
The Chief Psychiatrist will establish, approve, and implement policies related to the provision of mental health services in the context of the integrated model of the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center.
- Responsibilities : (Brief version) Direct Patient Care : * Provide direct clinical care at MSAHC and oversee follow-up of all hospitalized patients referred to MSAHC.
- Administrative Duties : *Oversee all mental health programs. In collaboration with the MSAHC Medical Director and Deputy Medical Director work to ensure that interdisciplinary services are well integrated, and that the MSAHC operates effectively and efficiently.
Oversee the delivery of youth-centric mental health clinical services across all practice settings : article 31, article 28 including School Based Health Centers.
Help to ensure a patient-centric culture, in which all in need of service are provided competent, caring and integrated care and where staff feel supported, appreciated, respected, can do their best work, and know how their specific work and the work of others, contributes to the success in achieving the mission of MSAHC.*Supervision*
- Supervise and support the overall development, management and evaluation of the mental health faculty (psychiatry, psychology), social work and other mental health staff;
- Develop and monitor the clinical care centralized schedules for all mental health providers;
- Supervise quality assurance mechanisms and monitor the quality of mental health services;
- Evaluate faculty performance annually; OPPE bi-annually;
- Oversee all mental health clinicians performance on no less than a semi-annual basis;
- Implement changes to existing protocols and processes as identified through the MSAHC QI process;
- Review and update policy and procedures on an annual basis;
- Participate in leadership and management meetings.*Accreditation*
- Responsible for maintaining the accreditation, regulatory and licensing standards related to the delivery of safe and effective patient care including but not limited to OMH, Article 31, Article 28 and Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment*Position Qualifications : MD Degree with Board Certification in Child / Adolescent Psychiatry or Psychiatry* Medical Degree from an Accredited University* New York Medical License
