Job Summary :

Are you passionate about math and helping students succeed? SiSTEM Tutoring Agency is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Math Tutors to join our team in Houston, TX.

We provide in-person tutoring services to students from elementary through high school in various math subjects. As a private tutor, you will work one-on-one in-person with a student to provide academic support in Math.

Job Responsibilities :

Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in Math subjects, including but not limited to :

• Basic Math
• Pre-Algebra & Algebra I / II
• Geometry
• Pre-Calculus & Calculus
• Statistics
• SAT / ACT Math Preparation
• Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses to create personalized lessons plans.
• Help students develop problem-solving skills and boost their confidence in Math.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, offering tutoring sessions based on students’ needs.
• Communicate progress and challenges with parents / guardians as needed.

MUST BE eligible to work in the United States of America and have a valid Social Security Number; (Note : We do not sponsor visas at this time).

MUST BE Committed to tutoring for the duration of the assignment with a possibility of extension.

MUST Be able to pass a background check.

Great interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt and relate to students from diverse backgrounds.

MUST HAVE your own computer and be technologically savvy (email, texting, Slack, Google Sheets / Excel).

MUST HAVE a selfless commitment to making a difference in students' lives (we work with migrant students and you must have compassion for all students regardless).

Must be willing to travel to various areas around Houston, Texas, and meet possibly in a public area (library, coffee shop, daycare, etc.) to tutor in person.

Qualifications and Skills :

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Be eligible to work in the United States of America and have the documentation to prove it.

Have your own computer and be technologically savvy (email, texting, Slack, Google Sheets / Excel).

Reliable transportation for travel to various in-person tutoring locations within Houston.

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERTISE :

A college student with at least 60 hours of credit hours

A college graduate (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral degree holder)

A certified teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification

A retired teacher with SBEC or other teacher state licensure certification

Skilled in Math (All grade levels are welcome to apply)

This position is a CONTRACT job. Contract Tutor will receive W-9 and must file / pay their own taxes.
