Position Overview :
The Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of risk management and insurance for the organization.
This includes ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, evaluating and managing potential risks, and working with various insurance carriers and brokers to secure the best possible coverage for the company.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, insurance, and project management, with a focus on construction and subcontractor default insurance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate and manage potential risks for the organization, including but not limited to property and casualty risks, contractual risks, and financial risks
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to risk management and insurance
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate risks and maintain compliance
- Manage relationships with insurance carriers and brokers, negotiate insurance contracts and renewals, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments
- Conduct data analysis and utilize Microsoft Excel to track and report on key risk management metrics
- Collaborate with various departments and teams to identify and address potential risks in projects and operations
- Manage and oversee the company's captive insurance program
- Provide guidance and support to project managers and subcontractors in regards to risk management and insurance requirements
- Lead and manage risk financing efforts, including securing appropriate insurance coverage and exploring alternative risk transfer options
- Provide leadership and direction to the risk management team, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, or related field
- Strong understanding of risk management principles, techniques, and best practices
- Experience in the construction industry and knowledge of subcontractor default insurance is highly preferred
- Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal
