Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Floor Nurse, Clinic Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Monday to Friday - Primary Care Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : 1 year of general nursing experience preferred, but not required License : Active Alaska Nursing License Certifications : Basic Life Support certification (preferred) Must-Have : Proof of flu vaccine Job Description : Function within the nursing department to assist patients and medical staff in an ambulatory care setting, providing a variety of nursing services to patients of all ages.
- Work as part of a nursing team consisting of RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed clinical assistants.- Perform full assessments, prioritize patient needs and flow, and coordinate care as ordered by providers, utilizing critical thinking and standing orders to expedite patient services.
- Conduct initial assessments of patients for appointments or urgent care services, provide telephone services including assessment and advice on self-care or appropriate care options.
- Administer therapeutic measures, including various forms of medication and operation of specialized equipment as required by patient needs.
- Initiate IV access, maintain site, and manage IV therapy including the mixing of concentrated medication solutions or powders.
- Document assessments, observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and patient education comprehensively.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including proper upkeep of the unit and equipment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Complete annual competencies including safety and infection control requirements.- Perform additional duties as assigned, including special projects to provide comprehensive health services.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Strong understanding of the nursing process and ability to apply critical thinking in a work environment.
