Description

SUMMARY

The Lodge at Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club is seeking an experienced Host / Hostess to greet arriving and departing guests;

to seat guests in a friendly manner and assist in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant.

Duties / Responsibilities :

• Provide guests with menus.
• Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas.
• Assign members and guests to tables suitable for their needs.
• Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.
• Speak with members and guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and to respond to complaints.
• Receive and record members and guests' dining reservations.
• Inform members and guests of establishment specialties and features.
• Direct members and guests to coatrooms and waiting areas such as lounges.
• Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Utilizes POS System when placing employee meal orders.
• All other duties as needed and or assigned by management.

Qualifications

Skills / Abilities :

• Ability to apply basic math skills.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers;

clients, and other associates of the organization.

Must possess good verbal and listening skills.

Education / Experience :

One to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL Requirements :

• Must be able to stand and walk on their feet for 95% of the shift.
• Must be able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks as required.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
