Working at our Stapley Drive location, This position provides support to members, families and teams of those individuals who are part of the Developmentally Delayed population including the Autism Spectrum, children with behavioral needs such as social and emotional educational needs, and children who are experiencing difficulty meeting developmental milestones .

The program works primarily with children. The ideal individual will possess at least two to three years experience working with Children in a behavioral health setting, and have a high degree of compassion for others and high level of personal integrity.

Terros Health is seeking a Behavior Coach for Children Services

Full-Time

Monday-Friday

Flexible hours, some evenings required

Experience working with children preferred

Bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS (Additional Language Differential is Available)

Position Summary : This position provides support to members, families and teams of those individuals who are part of the Developmentally Delayed population including the Autism Spectrum, children with behavioral needs such as social and emotional educational needs, and children who are experiencing difficulty meeting developmental milestones.

The purpose is to provide behavioral support and consultation to individual members, their family and / or school setting staff.

Responsible for responding to crisis calls as needed as well as planned interventions primarily in a school or out of office setting.

Capable of applying deescalating interventions based on positive behavior support, choice education, and person and family support.

Will assist with the development of individual service plan, person centered planning, emergency contact sheet, and the at-risk crisis plan.

Will participate in emergency staffing and Child and Family Team (CFTs) meetings. This position reports to the Clinical Coordinator or designee.

To work with other team members in providing support and knowledge as needed on shared cases

• Appreciates and applies best's practices, recovery approaches and person support interventions
• Performs crisis de-escalation; mental status and risk assessment; safety planning and positive behavior support based on clinical expertise and the involvement of the client and their families and caregivers.
• Contribute to a culture of learning (e.g., sharing information, discussing articles and best practices, etc.).
• Works in collaboration with individual members' team and other stakeholders.
• Attends CFTs and other client centered staff meetings as needed.

Driving is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

• GED / High school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of behavioral health (BH) experience or
• Associate degree in the BH field, or bachelor's degree in BH field, or
• Bachelor's degree in non-behavioral health field with 1 year minimum of BH experience
• Preferred : 1 or 2 to 3 years' experience working with children in a Behavioral Health Setting.
• Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card (Level 1) or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card within 7 working days of employment
• Must have valid Arizona driver's license, be (21 years of age) with minimum 4 years driving experience and meet requirements of Terros Health's driving policy.

Driving is an essential function of this position.

• The person must be able to work well and tactfully with individuals and groups.
• The person must have the ability to perform first aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as necessary and appropriate.

The person must also have a current certification in CIT.
