Vice President, USPB Enterprise Risk & Balance Sheet Management

U.S. Personal Banking (USPB) is a major business at Citi. The In-Business Credit & Franchise Risk Organization within USPB is responsible for managing the credit and franchise risk of the USPB business.

The Head of In-Business Credit & Franchise Risk reports to the CEO of USPB.

One of the groups within In-Business Credit & Franchise Risk Organization is Enterprise Risk and Balance Sheet Management.

This group is responsible for executing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programs including Risk Identification, Risk Appetite & Limits, New Activities / Product Risk, ERM Risk Monitoring and framework execution.

The team is also responsible for managing Balance Sheet constraints including capital-based risk appetite limit and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA).

This role is part of the Retail Credit Limit Management & Balance Sheet Management Team. This individual will be working on key analysis and driving key initiatives contributing to the successful management of balance sheet constraints.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be a key resource to perform or support the following responsibilities :

  • Monitor RWA & GSIB, develop remediation plans for potential RWA excesses against the approved business plan, and manage RWA limit breach escalation per policy.
  • Liaise with finance and business partners and help develop robust in-business RWA forecasting methodology.
  • Perform stress loss forecasting based on CCAR and other internal stress testing scenarios consistent with firms risk appetite framework and strategic plans.
  • Evaluate drivers of capital-based stress losses, RWA (risk weighted asset) and recommend metrics and leading indicators to track drivers across retail risk pool.
  • Develop USPB Balance Sheet Optimization framework within all the capital based binding constraints.
  • Build presentations with supportive analysis, storyboard results for senior management & executive management team.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of work experience in financial services or management consulting with heavy focus on risk management
  • Working knowledge of Credit Cards and other consumer bank products P&Ls, key risk & return dynamics and loss drivers.
  • Good understanding of Capital and Balance Sheet Management, CCAR & CECL framework, Basel III Endgame
  • Hands on experience in retail credit risk analytics using analytical or data management tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, VBA, Advanced Excel) and power-point presentation skills.
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, ability to derive trends, insights, and perform risk / reward trade-off analysis

  • Bachelors / University degree
  • Preferred Masters degree in quantitative disciplines such as Financial Engineering, Operation Research, Econometrics, or similar quantitative discipline; OR MBA Finance
