Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Office Services Supervisor II, the selected candidate will perform confidential work and be responsible for the following :

Perform all duties related to Area enforcement documents, which include daily review of information for accuracy and process CHP 215 (Notice to Appear), citations for court filing.

Enter all CHP 215 information into the SACS Web database on a daily basis. File citations in Area files and maintain according to departmental retention schedule on an ongoing basis.

Process CHP 411's (Notice to Correct and Proof of Service).Process CHP 239 (Notice to Defendant), Owner Responsibility form and CHP 281 (Notice to Correct).

Maintain CHP 215A Excel log. Ensure an adequate supply of CHP 215’s are ordered and maintained in the storage locker. Using a personal computer, type, mail and file Parental Notification, Juvenile letters.

Answer in-coming telephone calls and assist the public. Route calls to the proper person and take messages when needed. Provide excellent customer service to the public.

Back-up to Area Vehicle Storage Clerk (CHP 180 Clerk). Assists Area Vehicle Storage Clerk (CHP 180 Clerk) as needed in the entering and processing of Vehicle Storage forms.

Answering telephone calls from the public. Assist other clerical as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.

Special Requirements

The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section).

You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired.
