Essential Duties

Responsibilities

Prioritize support to schools with a commitment to excellence with equity and a sense of urgency towards removing systemic and historic barriers to equitable education

Provide leadership in the development, selection, articulation, and implementation of curriculum, assessments, interventions, tools, and resources that are vertically and horizontally aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, disciplinary literacy standards, and college and career readiness standards

Develop and deliver professional development to support teachers, coaches, and other school staff on using data to strengthen instructional planning and classroom instruction to meet students’ needs

Partner with schools to co-plan and co-facilitate professional development, coaching support, and use of data for decision making within a multi-tiered system of support

Utilize engagement and collaboration strategies to strategically align resources to support student and family needs, engage them in culturally responsive ways, and develop collaborations to disrupt the systems and structures that have historically excluded our marginalized families and students

Participate in activities that promote district priorities

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Official transcripts are required for formal employment.

Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license in Broadfield Science or Science (1601, 1634, or 2600) or Regular Education (1777, 1088 or 2088) to cover the grade level(s) being taught

Applications are considered on a rolling basis. MMSD will consider applicants who are fully licensed before considering applicants who are not yet licensed

If you do not already have an active Wisconsin teaching license, you must obtain and maintain the necessary license(s) for the position.

An application must be on file within 30 days of starting your employment with MMSD. Failure to do so will result in your contract being voided.

The district does not provide financial support for the continued education that is required to achieve the certification.

The district does not select or endorse any particular certification program that leads to the required Wisconsin teaching license.

An unlicensed candidate can be considered, but they must be hired by a school district in order to apply for a One-Year License with Stipulations with DPI.
