About the Role

In this position, you will play an integral role in shaping decisions that drive Cents' growth. You will work closely with key stakeholders and executives, and will see the impact of your contributions on the Company's strategy across all departments : finance, product, marketing and more.

You will own complex analyses, reporting, and models that influence strategic business decisions. This is a leadership position within our finance department that will report directly to the CFO.

We are looking to add great talent to our growing team in New York and ask that you work 3 days from our office in NYC.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Late start-up experience or smaller company experience (500 employees or less)
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Aspirations for upward movement (even CFO track)
  • CPA Certified
  • Strong Technical Accounting experience
  • Ability to lead and roll up your sleeves
  • Experienced ERP implementation

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic leadership across accounting, revenue operations, treasury, tax, and internal control functions to align financial activities with organizational goals.
  • Develop and optimize cutting-edge financial systems and processes to deliver timely, actionable insights and improve overall financial performance.
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including consolidation, to ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
  • Stay current on technical accounting topics to guarantee the consistent application of corporate accounting principles in full compliance with US GAAP.
  • Lead and support accounting personnel to uphold internal controls and company policies, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Oversee compliance with all relevant taxes, including sales tax, and coordinate with external service providers for income tax filings.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate financial risks, and implement strategies to address and mitigate potential challenges effectively.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a talented accounting team to achieve excellence and drive financial success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA Required
  • 6-8 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience, with a strong focus on accounting.
  • Prior experience with a Big 4 firm or public accounting is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Experienced in implementing ERP systems and advanced financial software tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in setting up and supporting international operations.
  • Valued experience in SaaS, Payments, and manufacturing sectors.
