Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with active state license, BLS, and 2 years of experience for a home health assignment serving post-acute patients.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a post-acute home health setting with assignments to specific geographical regions
  • Patient population includes PT / OT patients with orthopedic injuries, strokes, joint and spinal injuries, and speech therapy needs
  • Documentation and charting are completed in Cerner
  • Flexible daytime schedule primarily Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with every third weekend required
  • Minor holiday coverage expected, major holidays only if needed
  • Business attire with a white lab coat is required; jeans are not permitted
  • Initial orientation on the floor lasts 1.5 to 2 weeks
  • Provide treatment and support for home-based post-acute patients with a range of orthopedic, neurological, and speech conditions
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including PT, OT, and speech therapy professionals
  • Must cover assigned regional territory for patient visits
  • Floor-specific orientation will be provided to support onboarding
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

    • Requirements

  • Active state or compact PTA license required; pending licenses will not be accepted
  • License required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification is required
  • Minimum 2 years of PTA experience
  • Experience with OASIS documentation is required
  • At least 1 year of PT / OT / speech experience; previous home health experience preferred
  • Copy of driver's license must be provided for consideration
  • Two references : one supervisor from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
