Summary :
The Nurse Manager has responsibility for implementation of strategies and activities designed to achieve and support uncompromising quality, exceptional patient safety and an outstanding patient family experience.
The Nurse Manager intentionally creates an environment that fosters staff development, staff empowerment, collegial relationships and best practice in the delivery of nursing care.
The Nurse Manager allocates resources to promote efficient, effective, compassionate and fiscally responsible nursing care.
The Nurse Manager assures the coordination of care across department lines through a focus on systems that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication.
The Nurse Manager participates in the recruitment, selection and retention of personnel.
Assures appropriate orientation, education, credentialing and continuing professional development for personnel accountable to the nurse manager.
Responsible for supervision and oversite of the Emergency Department, SSH Clinical Leaders, Medic 55 ALS Program
Experience :
Minimum : 3-4 years experience as an RN in an Emergency Department.
At least one year of experience as Nurse Manager
Education :
Minimum : Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program, Masters in Nursing or related field.
Preferred : Masters in Nursing or Related Field
Certifications Licensure :
Minimum : Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. Minimum : BLS, ACLS, PALS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire. CPI certification within 90 days of hire. TNCC required within 18 months of hire.
Preferred : Certified Emergency Nursing within one year.
Ideal Candidate :
The ideal candidate will have had a consistant and recent employment history, within the Emergency Department. We are looking for someone with leadership experience, who can jump in and be hands on clinically.
