Responsible for receiving and processing patient specimens for diagnostic testing
Responsibilities
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Registers outpatients and / or specimens received from outside customers, as necessary.
- Collects and processes specimens.
- Identifies and labels all specimens according to hospital and laboratory policy.
- Assists with reception and front office duties as necessary.
- Distributes laboratory reports according to current guidelines.
- Maintains equipment and stocking of supplies
- Prepares specimens for send out to reference laboratory
- Performs the duties of the Laboratory / Pathology Representative and Front Office Staff.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required
