Cromulence is looking for Cleared Software Engineers and Developers to support advanced research and development contracts and advance our nation's cybersecurity capabilities with cutting-edge research and tools.

At Cromulence, Software Engineers and Developers are expected to :

• Work with a small team of other engineers and developers to understand customer problems in multiple domains and apply instrumentation and automation to solve those problems
• Collaborate with end-users across many problem domains (hardware development, vulnerability research, reverse engineering, statistical analysis, software development) to identify additional problems that can be solved with software
• Propose solutions to problems or deficiencies to customers or other employees
• Break proposed solutions down into smaller tasks that can be incrementally implemented and tested (as additional features, bug fixes, extra tools, etc.)
• Develop code in a maintainable fashion following our internal guidelines for code quality, build processes, unit testing, and managing release artifacts
• Manage both regular releases and extra, on-demand releases of any software being delivered to internal and external customers

Required Skills :

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related discipline (Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.

or 5+ years of relevant work experience in areas like emulator development, operating system kernel development, and / or embedded software development

• Solid understanding of C, C++, Python, and / or Ruby (which constitutes the majority of the code we work with on a day-to-day basis)
• Familiarity and experience with different software architectures at the assembly level (x86 / x86-64, ARMv7, ARMv8, MIPS, etc)

Preferred Skills :

• Strong orientation toward both details and results
• Strong skills in organization and communication

A current U.S. government security clearance is required. Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information.

As a result, U.S. Citizenship is required for this role . Applicants may be subject to additional security requirements.

Cromulence is a small cybersecurity company located in historic downtown Melbourne, Florida. It was founded in 2014 by members of the Legitimate Business Syndicate, organizers of the DEF CON Capture the Flag competition from 2013 to 2017.

Cromulence specializes in the development and execution of Computer Network Operation Tools, Cyber Competition Systems, Software Development, Program Analysis Tools, and Vulnerability Research.

Most recently, Cromulence developed and executed the 2020 Hack-A-Sat competition for the US Air Force.
