About The Position
Job Title : Radiology Technologist I Job Specialty : Radiology Tech Job Duration : 7 Months Shift : Part-Time, 2 Days Weekly (Tuesday / Thursday) 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM Guaranteed Hours : 16 Hours Weekly Experience : Must have at least 1 year of experience in an Orthopedic Practice License : New Jersey State License Certifications : Completion of ARRT requirements Must-Have : Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology Job Description : Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, providing immobilization devices, and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
- Restrict radiation beam through cone and collimating devices to prevent exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.- Perform portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
- Follow operational procedures to correctly identify patient films with name and x-ray number, and mark films with the correct side of the patient.
- Develop exposed x-ray film using available processing methods.- Complete patient requisitions with technologist initials, date, number, and size of film.
- Maintain an orderly x-ray room as directed by the head of the department.- Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist the physician in administering radiopaque mixtures to patients.
- Perform administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, providing patient instructions, filing films, maintaining records, and receiving patients.
- Provide assistance to all patients based on their needs, including moving, turning, and getting on and off x-ray tables.
- Lift a minimum of 5 lbs, push and pull a minimum of 10 lbs, and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.- Identify the needs of the patient population served and deliver care specific to those needs, including communication adjustments based on age, culture, language, and sensory impairments.
- Adhere to the identified standards in the organizational competencies.
