Our Strategy & Investment team plays a vital role in shaping our Te Whatu Ora strategies for Data and Digital. We work closely with our partners to create and maintain our strategy and roadmaps, ensuring that our priorities are met, and the vision comes to life.

Our focus is on providing leadership, managing services, and overseeing architecture to align with our strategic goals. Additionally, we're excited to lead Strategic Partnership Management.

This involves fostering partnerships with industry providers, managing relationships with national partners like Microsoft, AWS, and Spark, and handling Data and Digital Contract Management alongside Procurement.

Our team develops and maintains frameworks, agreements, and roadmaps to keep everything running smoothly.

Mōu About you

As our Principal Advisor Strategy, your role is all about shaping and guiding our data and digital strategy to make sure it aligns perfectly with the goals of the NZ Health Plan.

As a friendly face and an expert in the field, you will be there to offer insights and ideas to our Data and Digital team.

Your partnership with various stakeholders in the sector and the market will be key, as we work together to bring positive changes.

You'll also play a big part in transforming how we handle data and digital operations while making sure everything runs smoothly.

Your oversight will make sure our plans turn into actions effectively!

Preference will be given to applications of significantly affected Kaimahi through the change process.

  • Excellent analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely with a range of audiences.
  • Strong relationship management skills and experience in engaging with stakeholders at all levels, preferably in the health sector.
  • Knowledge and skills to deal effectively with complex, ambiguous, and politically sensitive situations or topics; knowing what is important to key stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
  • Is approachable with a collegial attitude and desire to work with others to achieve results and share knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team.
  • An understanding of and ability to select, adapt and use a range of frameworks, principles, tools, and methods and draw on experience in different areas of expertise to apply them appropriately to given issues.
  • Demonstrates a drive to deliver and take personal responsibility has organising, planning and time management skills so able to multitask, reprioritise and react to issues that arise whilst keeping calm and professional in demanding situations.
  • Demonstrates an ability to build constructive and effective relationships with stakeholders to build a sound understanding of their operational environment and context.

  • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions. This includes an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in this role
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
