POSITION SUMMARY

Performs assistant softball coaching duties, including recruitment of student-athletes in a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III intercollegiate softball program.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Assists in the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of potential softball student-athletes.
  • Assists in monitoring the academic progress of each student-athlete.
  • Assists in the preparation of scouting reports and game plans.
  • Assists in the monitoring of student-athletes at practice, during travel, and at home and away matches.
  • Assists in coordinating the physical development of each student-athlete through appropriate condition, strength, and practice sessions in the fall and spring.
  • Remains accessible to the media, alumni, boosters, and general public to publicize and promote the softball program, in coordination with the Sports Information Director.
  • Assists with the preparation and instruction at camps and clinics.
  • Advises and counsels student-athletes academically, athletically, and socially.
  • Assists in recommending the purchase of new softball equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
  • Assists in the coordination of travel and food arrangements for road trips.
  • Supports the mission and vision of the College and respects the College's Catholic tradition.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education : Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in any field.

Experience : Two to four years related experience. Prior pitching experience required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Other Requirements : Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of collegiate softball. Knowledge of rules and regulations of NCAA Division III and the American Rivers Conference as they pertain to collegiate softball.
