Job Description :
Pay Range $39hr - $45hr
- Designs major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Utilizes CAD equipment to develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches and notes necessary to present design proposals.
- Investigates and makes decisions regarding pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements and cost.
- Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
- May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
- Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
- Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
Required :
- Bachelor’s and a minimum of 4 years or prior related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in the use of 3D CAD (preferably PTC Creo).
- Preferred experience in design of electronic equipment.
- Secondary experience in design of industrial equipment or automotive components.
- Eligible to obtain a Government Secret Security Clearance if required.
- Strong communication skills and enjoys working with other people, developing relationships and sharing knowledge.
Nice To Have :
- PTC Creo 3D CAD.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Defense / Military electronics packaging experience.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 environmental standards.
