Responsibilities
- The Nursing Director of Surgical Services has 24 / 7 responsibility for their departments
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the surgical services department
- Provide visionary leadership to foster excellence and collaboration
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows and enhance efficiency
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure high standards of patient care
- Lead initiatives to improve clinical practices and compliance
- Recruit, train, and mentor surgical services staff
- Promote ongoing professional development for the team
- Foster strong relationships with surgeons and other stakeholders
- Act as a liaison between the surgical services department and other hospital units
- Develop and manage the department's budget
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost-saving initiatives
- Stay informed about industry regulations and accreditation standards
- Implement and monitor policies for regulatory compliance
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the department or organization
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve organizational goals
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including training and development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including HIPAA
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to improve processes and enhance patient care
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
- Develops and manages budgets, including forecasting and cost control measures
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in surgical services within an acute care setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
