The Manager, Family Assistance is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, supervision, and support services of the Family Assistance Program in Galveston-Texas City.
The Manager, Family Assistance ensures that the program aligns with the Agency's policies, guidelines of Houston or Galveston Food Bank, fund regulations, and accreditation guidelines, while working closely with the Director, Family Assistance and other stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in social service or related field
Three (3) years of experience in a social services or nonprofit setting.
Two (2) years of experience in a leadership role.
Valid Texas Driver’s License

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Familiarity with emergency assistance services, food pantry operations, and compliance with food bank guidelines and regulations.
Proficiency in data management systems (ETO, Charity Tracker) and budgeting.
Ability to anticipate the needs of staff, clients and Director to move the mission of the program and agency forward.
Ability to be flexible, adapt and adjust to rapid changes within a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
Sensitivity to issues surrounding individuals and families expecting financial instability, homelessness, hunger, mental illness or physical ailments.
Experience in crisis intervention and problem solving with ability to diffuse situations without heightening conflict.
What you Deliver
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Family Assistance, Galveston-Texas City, including program management, accounting, and administrative duties.
Assist the Director, Family Assistance in monitoring the operating budget, developing program budgets, and managing expenses to meet or exceed goals.
Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and accounting for the regional area, as well as overseeing supply management.
Provide leadership and oversight to a team of direct care staff, ensuring quality service delivery to clients and adherence to agency policy and fund guidelines.
Implement program changes as directed by the Director to ensure quality service delivery.
Recruit, train, and supervise new staff and volunteers, ensuring the effective delivery of program services. Participate in regular team client consultation sessions, providing input on service issues and trends.
Act as the primary liaison between the Family Assistance Program and data management software platforms (Charity Tracker, ETO, Link2Feed).
Prepare and submit accurate program reports, including Performance Indicator Reports, Bridges to Hope Dashboards, and Clients in Program Reports.
Ensure timely entry and management of data in systems such as Charity Tracker, ETO, and Link2Feed to support accurate reporting.
Provide support on basic needs assistance, including rent, utilities, transportation, and food distribution, following grant budgetary guidelines.
Ensure the effective daily operation of the food pantry / closet, managing pantry / warehouse staff and ensuring quality client engagement.
Conduct regular quality reviews of client records to ensure compliance with agency standards and maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
Evaluate the success of the Family Assistance Program and communicate results to the Director, Vice President, President / CEO, Board of Directors, funders, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Director to assess program outcomes and implement improvements to ensure effective service delivery.
Support the Director with timely reporting of program outputs, outcomes, and budget monitoring to funding agencies.
Promote the Family Assistance Program to achieve attendance, financial, and satisfaction goals.
Collaborate with parish relations, fund development, and senior management to recruit new donors and volunteers. Assist with program marketing efforts, including updates to brochures and contributions to website revisions.
Maintain accurate accounting records, process invoices, and oversee supply orders for the program. Oversee the ordering and management of food stocks, ensuring timely and appropriate procurement.
Ensure the proper security and confidentiality of client records in compliance with agency policies.
Process all contracts and manage relationships with funding sources, ensuring compliance with requirements and deadlines.
Assist the Director in setting and achieving outreach and advisory committee goals, promoting community engagement.
Support outreach activities to engage new donors, volunteers, and community partners.
Assist with coordination and communication with the Advisory Committee on program initiatives and regional needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
