JOB TITLE :
Regional Director of Nursing
REPORTS TO :
Regional Administrator of PPEC
The Regional Director of Nursing is a full-time employee directly responsible for supervising clinical services and leadership functions for all regional PPECs.
The Regional Director of Nursing supports all PPECs as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients and achieve compliance with company policies and procedures, State and Federal regulations, and clinical standards of practice.
The Regional Director of Nursing will promote the Company’s core values of care, compliance, integrity, trust, and accountability.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Enforces and demonstrates compliance with all State and Federal regulations, Medicaid Regulations, and Advanced Care Partners policies and procedures.
- Oversees and directs the clinical operations of the centers within the region.
- Provides orientation and training to facility management including Directors of Nursing, COCs, and Charge Nurses on the company’s skilled nursing policies and procedures and State and Federal regulations.
- In- collaboration with the Director of Nursing at each location, ensures that individuals satisfy the state's admission requirements for PPEC services.
- In collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Regional Administrator of PPEC, utilizes the approved performance review program.
Complete all DON reviews at 90 days and at least annually.
- Ensure ongoing supervision and timely evaluations of employees.
- In collaboration with a designated human resource representative, works to resolve personnel-related problems, concerns, or conflicts.
- Shall assist the DONS to develop, coordinate, and implement written goals and objectives, standards of practice, policies, and procedures, and an organizational plan for the nursing service and shall address at the minimum :
- The assessment of the individual’s health service needs.
- Ongoing observation and monitoring of the individual’s condition.
- Notification of the Administrator it there is a significant change in the individual’s health status.
- The assessment and implementation of the individual’s need for referral to the individual’s primary health care provider and / or specialist.
- The maintenance of records as per Advanced Care Pediatrics.
- Provides DONs access to staff development, in-services, and continuing education.
- Overseeing compliance and participation in the continuing quality improvement and utilization review.
- Collaborating with all DONs and ensuring all QA measures are met on time.
- Review all center's QA and collaborate quarterly presentations for the Medical Director’s review and approval.
- Establishes and maintains liaison relationships and communication between center staff, service providers, and individual’s parents / guardians.
- Serve as a clinical resource and develop and provide focused education and training to support knowledge and best practices in resident care, clinical reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
- An active member in the community in a way that builds ACP PPEC recognition. Presenting at times in the community at different events.
- Fosters and maintains positive and productive working relationships with physicians, practice leaders, and key strategic partners within designated regions.
- Oversight of the region's Director of Nurses, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and administrative staff.
- Hold monthly Quality Assurance / Safety meetings to analyze issues within the community, including reviewing incident reports, safety rounds, worker’s compensation claims, etc.
- Travel to each location as needed and fill in for DON / staffing as warranted
- Perform random site compliance visits to ensure ACP is providing high-quality cost-effective care and following all regulations as warranted.
- Works with clinician leadership to strengthen the collaboration and coordination of services between operations and clinical teams.
- Supports DONs in developing a talented and motivated workforce by ensuring engagement and satisfaction; while ensuring optimal efficiency and accountability.
- Participate in staff, management, and provider meetings, as necessary provide day-to-day support via phone, email, or visits.
- Proactively seek new business and referral sources for ACP PPEC centers.
- Reach out to potential clients and / or referrers through, but not limited to, cold calls, emails, text messages, and site visits.
- Coordinate public relations activities.
- Assist with marketing events and initiatives to obtain new referrals, new ACP team members, and referral sources.

Qualifications
Competencies, Education and Credentials :
- The Regional Director of Nursing shall be a registered professional nurse and have the following qualifications :
- Hold a current Florida registered nurse license;
- Hold a current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR);
- Shall have a baccalaureate degree from a college or university approved by a state department of education and three years full-time experience in a licensed health care facility, at least 3 years.
- Have at least 2- 5 years of full-time administrative / supervisory experience in a licensed healthcare facility and be :
- A physician;
- A registered professional nurse with either a Master of Science (MS) degree or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree; or
- An advanced practice nurse (APN)
- Have a minimum of two years of general pediatric nursing experience of which at least six months shall have been spent caring for medically fragile infants or children in a pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, PPEC, or similar care setting during the past five years.
- Demonstrates adequate knowledge of home ventilators, apnea monitors, oxygen, trachs / trach care and suctioning, special feedings, G-tubes, N / G tubes, and IVs.
- Evidence of negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
- Satisfactory criminal background check; and
- Nursing supervision and / or administration experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Ability to stand, lift, or assist in lifting an individual in an emergency.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and generally demonstrate flexibility to meet the care needs of the patient.
- Must be able to see visually and listen with hearing acuity.
- Must have strength and manual dexterity, including grasping and manipulating small objects, to operate medical equipment appropriately.
- Must be able to respond in an emergency.
