Department of Medicine-Hematology / Oncology
Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Health Science Clinical or Clinical X series) - Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Division of Hematology / Oncology are recruiting for a new clinical faculty member at the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor level in the Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology Program, an internationally renowned leader in GI cancer care and research.
Candidates' primary responsibility in this position will be to provide outstanding patient care, with the expectation of seeing patients 6 half-days per week in the GI Oncology program.
As part of this role they will work closely with colleagues in other cancer subspecialities and attend multidisciplinary tumor board conferences, as well as supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows who rotate through the GI Oncology clinic.
Candidates will be expected to contribute to the clinical research program of the GI Oncology program by enrolling to ongoing clinical trials;
serving as a Principal Investigator on trials and / or developing their own research projects are also encouraged, depending on the academic and research interests of the candidate.
The appointment will be made in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series at a rank compatible with the candidate's qualifications.
Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be ABIM certified or eligible in Medical Oncology. They should have a commitment to patient care and a track record of clinical excellence and experience in the treatment and management of patients with all types of gastrointestinal malignancies, including colorectal / anal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, neuroendocrine, and gastroesophageal cancers.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $104,800-$320,100.
This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
