About the role
Viterra is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our team based in the Adelaide office. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering electrical projects in accordance with Viterra technical requirements as well as maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the electrical trade, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding Viterra's high standards of quality and reliability.
Duties include but not limited to
- Ensuring electrical projects are delivered in accordance to Viterra technical requirements, appropriate Australian standards and regulations within the prescribed project delivery schedules and budget.
- Leading project installation and commissioning safety related discussions and interactions with contractors and Viterra site representatives to maintain zero harm to people and the environment.
- Participate with machine safety in design review and risk assessment.
- Planning, coordinating and reviewing of installation and commissioning activities.
- Liaising with contractors and company site representatives to provide support with project related safety matters, technical clarifications, installation and commissioning activities.
- Maintaining technical & safety performance requirements by ensuring adherence to project quality plans, ITP’s, drawings & documentation, and participation with witness equipment testing in accordance with contractor supplied FAT and SAT documentation.
- Technical supervision and support of electrical installation and commissioning activities.
- Participation with trouble shooting and fault finding of complex technical issues.
- Procurement of project related equipment and services.
About you
- Electrical Trade Qualification and a Minimum of five years’ experience in electrical trade in Australia.
- Certificate IV in Project Management (Desirable)
- Detailed focussed with strong investigation skills
- Strong written and oral communication and reporting skills and can liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
- Demonstrated project installation and commissioning experience delivering either heavy industrial / commodities storage and handling projects
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, Work Health and Safety Regulations, Codes of Practice, SAPN Service and Installation Rules
- Must have experience with Hazardous Areas Maintenance and Installation
- Sound technical knowledge and experience with installation and commissioning of Low Voltage Electrical equipment and PLC Control Systems (Rockwell / Fuji)
- Sound experience with, industrial switchboards and motor control centres, power quality systems, PLC communication systems over Ethernet, conveyor control, instrumentation and CCTV systems.
- Working understanding of Machine safety
- Experience in Electrical Design Review, Machine SID and Risk Assessment, Project Planning and Scheduling
- AutoCAD exposure is desirable
- Proven ability to maintain Quality Assurance and Safe Work Practices
