The Patient Care Technician position on P11- Head & Neck / Breast Surgery unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.

The schedule will be eve / nights shift with rotating weekends and holidays required.

The Head & Neck / Plastics Reconstruction unit provides specialized nursing care to patients with a unique complexity of needs.

Hourly breakdown of salary range :

Minimum $17.54 - Midpoint $21.88 - Maximum $26.20

Essential Job Functions :

Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit / discharge and obtaining vital signs.

Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.

Acts as part of an assigned care team.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required : High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Preferred : One year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting.

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
