Maintenance Worker III- Electrician

Job Position Accountabilities

Under general supervision, the role involves performing skilled electrical work in the repair, alteration, construction, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems and related equipment. Additionally, the position encompasses a variety of skilled craft work in the maintenance and upkeep of school buildings, facilities, and miscellaneous equipment, including :

• Operate the variety of tools and equipment utilized in the performance of duties in multiple trades.
• Operate the variety of tools and equipment utilized in the performance of duties including various types of power equipment and hydraulic lifts.
• Perform electrical installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Test and evaluate electronic systems and installations.
• Install, maintain, and repair various types of electrical equipment, including clocks, alarms, and communications systems.
• Plan and layout skilled work, including estimating time and material cost.
• Skillfully use a variety of hand and power tools, machines, and equipment utilized in the repair, maintenance, and building trades.
• Comply with appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
• Understand and follow oral and written instructions and standard work procedures.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Maintain routine records.
• Observe legal and defensive driving principles.
• Practice proper safety practices in the operation of equipment.
• Maintains daily time sheets and records of work accomplished.
• Tasks are performed by using a safe and proper manner.

Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate equipment and use hand tools, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job. Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather may occasionally be experienced.
