Job Description :
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team of professionals in providing services to students in Alabama schools.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children of all ages and abilities, as well as a strong commitment to promoting health, wellness, and independence.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct assessments and evaluations of students' physical abilities and needs
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans in collaboration with school staff and parents / guardians
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in school settings, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions
- Monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Consult with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to support students' participation in educational activities and promote inclusion
- Provide training and support to school staff and parents / guardians on strategies for promoting students' physical development and independence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided and student progress
Requirements :
- Valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Alabama
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
- Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or clinical settings
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working in school-based settings
- Certification in Pediatric Physical Therapy (C / NDT, PCS, etc.)
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages commonly spoken by students and families in the district
