Job Description
- 75% Business Development / 25% Underwriting
- Work and develop existing agents, appointing agents
- $5M in single accounts; up to $10M in aggregate accounts
- Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly.
- Accurately evaluates complex risk exposures and ensures review of financial statements, credit reports, bank and other underwriting documents.
- Underwrites new business, selects acceptable risks to class and price according to guidelines, and rejects business that is unacceptable.
- Analyzes regional underwriting performance experience, identifies problems on a territory level and proposes action plans to address / rectify those situations.
- This position has NO DIRECT REPORTS. They are managing a territory.
Requirements :
- 7+ years of experience of Contract Surety underwriting for bonds
- Proficient in business development, sales, and / or marketing
- Must have carrier experience; not just agency experience
