Construction Estimator - Demolition and Grading
Opportunity to make $120,000-$160,000+ per year
Base + Commission (Projects Range from $5K-$250K)

Since the company's birth, in 1981, Tight Quarters, Inc. has provided quality assistance to the world of demolition, grading, and concrete cutting and breaking for commercial, residential and industrial communities throughout greater Southern California.
Within the next few months we will be seeking skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator with expertise in demolition and grading to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing detailed estimates, and providing guidance to support successful project execution.
This role requires a strong understanding of demolition and grading processes, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities :
Cost Estimation :
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for demolition and grading projects.
- Measure and Calculate quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for project execution.
- Research and obtain pricing to ensure competitive and comprehensive estimates.
- Prepare detailed and itemized bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and scope of work.
Project Analysis :
- Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and site conditions to identify potential challenges and opportunities for cost savings.
- Conduct site visits to assess project scope, gather information, and verify existing conditions.
- Evaluate project risks and provide recommendations for mitigating potential issues.
Collaboration and Communication :
- Work closely with general contractors, project managers, engineers, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
- Provide input during the bidding process and participate in bid review meetings.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure accurate and timely cost estimates.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and correspondence related to project costing.
- Prepare and present cost analysis reports to management and clients.
- Track and report on project cost performance and make adjustments as necessary.
Compliance and Quality Assurance :
- Ensure that all estimates comply with relevant codes, regulations, and company standards.
- Monitor changes in industry trends and best practices to maintain competitive and accurate estimating practices.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Construction related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, sales, with a focus on demolition and grading projects.
- Strong knowledge of demolition and grading techniques, equipment, and materials.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification from a professional estimating organization (e.g., AACE International, ASPE, PCEA).
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Familiarity with local construction codes and regulations.
